The goal of this project is to develop computer-aided face-fit evaluation methods. Specific aims are to: (1) establish fit test panels for today’s workers and recommend changes to the NIOSH certification program; (2) determine if mask design and face fit can be improved by using 3D data; (3) investigate correlation between 3D parameters and face fit; and (4) develop computer-aided face-fit evaluation methods which can be used to screen out respirators with poor face-fitting characteristics and design good-fitting respirators.
